The Parenting Compass

Quiz answers: your answers stay in your browser and are not saved to an account or profile.
Custom answers: if you choose to write your own answer, it is processed once by an AI service to identify broad parenting dimensions, used only to produce your result, and not stored.
Launch list: if you sign up, we store your email and any optional name you choose to share. We use that information only for Fellow Parent launch updates. You can ask to be removed at any time.
Analytics: the public website and quiz use Google Analytics and privacy-filtered first-party event logs to understand overall visits, quiz progression, result views, and actions such as sharing or launch-list signup. We do not send quiz answers, custom-answer text, names, email addresses, child information, or form values to analytics.
Shared links: Compass share links carry only a fixed compass_share referral marker. The link does not contain your answers, result, child information, email, a user identifier, or information about who shared it. The marker lets us measure referred visits in aggregate.

Account: your name, email address, and a hashed password (we never store the password itself).
Your content: reflections, coach conversations, child profiles (names and age groups you enter), Parenting Compass results, and anything you post to Circles.
Coach memory: a short rolling summary of your coach conversations, used to personalize future ones.
Technical basics: standard server logs (IP address, timestamps) for security and rate limiting.

Reflections and conversations are private to your account. Circle posts are visible only to that Circle's members.
Coach conversations are processed by an AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses. Your child profiles and Compass results shape those responses. We don't use your content to train AI models.
Children appear to Circles only under the sharing identity you choose (first name, initial, age only, or "my child").
We send transactional email only (verification, password reset). No marketing without separate consent, no selling data, no third-party ads or ad trackers in the app.
App analytics: to understand which features help parents (and fix what doesn't), the app records privacy-filtered usage events — for example that a conversation was started or a reflection was saved, with coarse context like which screen or feature was used. These events never include what you write or say: no reflection or message content, no names (yours, your children's, or your Circles'), no email addresses, and no free text. Events are tied to a random account identifier — not your email — and are processed by PostHog acting as our service provider, alongside our own logs. Deleting your account also deletes your analytics profile.

Export everything we hold from You → Account & security → Export my data.
Delete any reflection, conversation, or Circle post at any time — including retracting posts already shared.
Delete your entire account from You → Account & security. This permanently erases your data; Circles you created pass to their longest-standing member.
